Tessa's first trip to the National Zoo

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate uploading photos to blogger? Well, there. I just mentioned it.

Tessa's first trip to the zoo was...interesting. I'd originally thought that 3 years old was the magical age where she'd be thrilled and bouncing off the walls with the excitement of seeing zoo animals. It didn't totally happen that way. She slept half of the way there (took us an hour), and when we got there, we spent about 20 minutes looking for a place to park which, as I'm sure you can imagine, she was not happy about. So we entered the zoo with a tired, cranky, and overwhelmed Tessa. Seriously, too much whelm.

She cheered up when she got to pet and groom the donkeys. I don't blame her. Asses are fantastic.

Hello, el llama.

Donkey guy told us we had to wash our hands when we finished petting the asses (alright, alright. sorry.) so we don't pick up any of their diseases. Happy thought, indeed.

Big fish! (Whoops. Shouldn't use a flash in here.)

Pizza playground! Her favorite part of the zoo...not surprising.

Ending the day with a little cool misting of the melon.

And that was that.
